Stopped in here for lunch with my boyfriend before heading East to visit my brother for Memorial Day weekend. They were next to Huddle House and that was our first choice but I'm so glad we seen Lu Bob's instead. The interior was just a simple Mom and Pop's diner. Our waitress was young gal but a very good waitress very attentive and sweet.
We had coffee with cream which they bring out your own creamer pour which I prefer because one package cup never is enough. Coffee was mild but good.
We ordered 1/2 order of potatoe skin and 1/2 order of fried mushrooms to start. I ordered the 21 fried shrimp with cheese fries which in the picture the cheese was on the side and green beans. He ordered the ribeye which was medium rare and with green beans and pickled beets ( they give you a slice of bread with it ).
My fried shrimp was very good not greasy and just the right crunch. The fries were great with and without cheese. The green beans were simple but good. His steak was perfect ( it didn't even need sauce) just the right temp. and juicy. He didn't really care for the beets but he never eats beets so just not the right choice ( his fault). After all this is a GREAT! Place to go if you are traveling by. -

Truck stop food is the best food! Love the Funderburks and their restaurant. Be sure to try the pancakes! Best I have ever had!

I stopped here to get done lunch before I hit the road.
I'm glad I stopped by. The tables were clean but the for wasn't though it was muddy outside. My server was friendly and took carry a conversation.
I ordered the fried walleye with potato salad and green beans.
The potato salad was made with mustard and was delicious all the way thru. The green brands was ok, nothing to write home about.
The fried walleye was scrumptious and I asked for refills but unfortunately that's only for the drinks.
I had pie since I saw all the raves about the pies. It was not exaggerated. The Apple pie I had, was the best apple pie I've ever had. I will definitely recommend this place if you want to eat. -

Someone needs to tell these folk how French onion soup is made. The ingredients in the soup then either melted cheese or bread melted on top of the crock . This is the best part that people look forward to . It's like an ice cream cone without the cone. Maybe someone will actually let these people know about that and the "beef and noodles" beef noodles swimming in a bowl of 70 % of gravy. Never again !!!

Best family restaurant ever! Got stuck in Greenville due to truck problems and was lucky enough to be staying within walking distance of Lu-Bob's. Staff is extremely friendly and the food.... AMAZING. Golden chicken is on point.
